MEETING SPECIFIC NEEDS

In this day and age, there are many of us who go through more than most people can stand. We sometimes suffer many different types of hardships and most people have no ideal as to what we are going through.

Then there are days and times, when we are very happy, when everything is going better than we could ever imagine, and we just feel all good inside. Money is no problem, our kids are doing great in school or in life and we have almost everything that we want.

Then at some time in life, all of us will be sick and have more problems with our body than we even thought was possible. There will be days when we just get tired and want to end it all, because of the suffering our body and minds are enduring.

Now I know that most people can identify with sin, yes sin. We all, sometime in our life, have sin in one way or another. We sin because we want to, we sin because someone else caused us to, we sin because "the devil made us do it" and we sin and don't even know that we sin.

We go through all of this and never follow the blue print on how to really get out of the mess that we are sometimes in. We follow others, as if they have an answer, as if they are God. Even when we know they are wrong.

To meet our specific needs, all we really have to do is follow the teachings of Jesus. Remember Jesus came to this earth to show us the way to God and in so doing. God has given us his words in the Bible. So lets just go to the word.

James 5:13-18

Is anyone among you suffering hardship? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful, in good spirits? Let him sing psalms, a hymn of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
