Know Your President And Where He Comes From

Most everyone knows now that George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. Should America have a President with this type of background or is this just all a lie or does it even matter.

What say you?

The background *is* significant and it explains a *lot* ...

Oh yeah, but do many people scrutinize these goings on?

Perhaps after these past 6 1/2 yrs they will, we can only hope!

It should mean a lot, as the bloodline of a viper, is always passed down to their young.

Doesn't matter... People should be able to rise above the failings of their parents, and we should give them that opportunity. My ancestors were slaveowners, should that disqualify me from office? (Set aside the fact that most of my friends have promised to emigrate should I ever be elected to anything.)

That Bush failed to rise above the ignominy of his family is the tragedy that should disqualify him from office.

What Kvatch said. Sometimes the apple actually does fall a little ways from the tree. GW Bush just wasn't one of those apples.

But I do hope this finishes up the Bush Crime Family for any future political power.

Who Hijacked Our Country

There are some of my relatives way back who weren't exactly wonderful people. But I'm not a bad person. So I would say it's interesting but it shouldn't be the only thing we look at when voting for a candidate.

You have to look at each person as a unique individual. W. is just a little more "unique " than most.

Kvatch, if you run for anything, I'm also going to emigrate. I cannot imagine a Frog in office. Sorry, dude.

Otherwise, what Kvatch said is right on the money.

Being in the rare position of only having Saints in my ancestry, I see this quite differently.

Bush's grandfather used that money to help get the Bush family's foot in the political door, therefore they are all tainted and should burn in Hell immediately.

And thanks for participating in our conversation Larry. Your comments were much appreciated.

I agree with what kvatch said, but in this case I think what's happening now is an extention of what happened then. In other words, the Bush's haven't learned anything yet.

I usually agree with kvatch, but not this time.

In the case of bluebloods, the ones who "change their ways" are too few and far-between to risk it. For every Franklin Roosevelt produced, there'll be 500 Chimpys. If you don't want to be punished, NEVER vote for ANY blueblood. I realize that my view is prejudicial as hell, but I figure it's always better to be safe than sorry.

I don't think we need to look at George's genealogy to judge who he is and what he represents, it's already obvious to most of us.

I think people should be judged on their behavior, not on their ancestors.

Jolly I'm right there with you.

I went to school with several "blue bloods" (Social Register Families), and they cannot be trusted.

Having wealth like that warps your mind.

I'm with Jollyroger on this one!!! I always say Shrub is a DICTATOR and know I know why! I actually blogged about something today that has to do with SHIT that "runs" in families. Anyway good post L.T.!!!

I think most of the folks in power anywhere in the world have gotten there via many shady deeds. Wasn't AL Gore's father in the KKK or something? Maybe he just fought against civil rights I don't remember.

Like I always say..."Those who seek power should not be trusted to have it."

Wow, that was powerful stuff!

I'm not much of a one for conspiracy theories, but there comes a point when I have to start thinking something's up!!! Jesus H.

I think that a lot of family stuff affects who we are, more than we might think. He might not be an outwardly anti-semitic person as such, but it's pretty obvious alot of his 'family values' have rubbed off. I don't think apples always fall that far from the tree, much as I'd love to.

Looks like you guys got this covered.

Making War is about Making Money. War is a lazy man's capitalism. All you have to do is stirr up a little national pride and patriotism and the people will gleefully let you take their tax dollars.

Once the war profits start rolling in, it's hard to stop the flow.

Over $500,000,000,000 on Iraq already and counting...

When Bush said 9/11 changed everything, he was right, but people often mistake his meaning. What Bush meant was that after 9/11 we would be shifting back to a war time economy. This was the wink and nod to the Halliburtons, BlackWater USA, USIS, Bechtel, and all the other corporations that the all you can eat buffet at the U.S. Treasury was open.

This video is frightening and needs to be viewed by All Americans.

Unforntunately as he points out Rove et al are brillaint at propaganda having studied Goering and Goebbles they have in many ways subverted the truth and elevated self serving fantasy.
