Was The President Sincere?

Was President Bush sincere when he said this; "It is not right to have someone volunteer to wear our uniform and not get the best possible care. I apologize for what they went through, and we're going to fix the problem." This ws said during his visit at Walter Reed.

Democratic Senator Patty Murray, says veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan have been lost in the system.

"We are now starting the fifth year of this war. And to date, this president has not planned and supported funding to make sure that those men and women, whether it is traumatic brain injury, whether they've lost a limb, whether it's post-traumatic-stress syndrome, or whether it's just coming home and being able to find another job, have been paid attention to," she said.

What say you America... does this President's apology sound sincere?

I usually don't give him credit for anything, but I think the president may have actually been doing more than just paying his usual lip service in this case. While he never saw combat, he has had the opportunity to see plenty of maimed and wounded soldiers, and because he believes so strongly in his cause (unjust as some of us believe it to be), I actually think he means what he says here. Once something is done to improve the conditions for outpatients at Reed and other VA hospitals, maybe we can then see about doing something to keep soldiers with dignoses of PTSD from having to do repeat tours of duty. It is one thing to care for the soldiers who are done with their soldiering days, but I think we also need to care for those who are serving right now. Bush may be gradually seeing the picture. It is my hope so, anyway!

For our military sake, I hope you are right.

Let's not forget, Bush has made 12 to 18 trips to Walter Reed... why is it now that he pledge to do for the troops?

I'm not sure I could answer that question, LT... What I wonder is, how many more trips has he made to Crawford, TX than he has to Walter Reed? Or to New Orleans? What a joker. For being our nation's Commander-In-Chief, he seems to take a frighteningly simple approach to so many complex issues... scheise...

snave, I hear that he's on his 149th trip, to vacation city... just hope nothing happens while he's there.

It seems this President let's nothing spoil his time on the ranch.
