I blame inbreeding.

I would call that a C. Davenport like comment.

I don't think it is. I think what we're seeing is the MSM's usual tactics at work.

It is well known, for instance, that there are now more white women in the Obama camp than there were before he pandered to them with Sarahpoleon. Just try to find any prominent mention of that. What you WILL be able to find, are all kinds of pieces written about "will women identify with a hockey mom?" They continue to push this bullshit KNOWING that it's bullshit.

I hope you're right Jolly. I tried to comment at your site and found something about my javascript needs to be activated.

"Why is the Presidential race between Obama and McCain so close?"
I usually don't wear tinfoil hats to discussions like these, but then I never needed one until recent years. To finally answer your question......"If the election is perceived to be close, whether or not it actually is, that provides cover for vote hanky panky."

You too huh? Something foul is going on.

I changed methodologies. Let me know if the comment problem continues.

LET'S TALK said...

The Future Was Yesterday, I love the honesty at your site so please express yourself as you wish here.

I agree to Jolly somewhat that MSM has a lot to do with this but when you see that Obama is just six to eight points ahead of this flip-flopping Republican. It makes one wonder why is it that Obama is not much more ahead than he is right now.

LET'S TALK said...

Jolly, my comments are now showing at your site.

I think some non-African Americans are hesitant because of race. Others are outright prejudiced. There's hope that in the end the former will come around. I expect the latter to remain stuck where they are.

Beyond that, I worry TFWY has it right. I wouldn't put anything past Republicans. They will say and do anything to win, and they have spent the last eight years demonstrating what utter disregard they have for laws and the Constitution.

I'll come right out and call it like I see it.
And I see it as racism.

Mauigirl said...

I think it is partly racism, for sure. I also think JR has some good points - the MSM doesn't publicize anything that makes it look like anything less than a tight race.

LET'S TALK said...

S.W. Anderson, to some degree it is as you say, non-African Americans being hesitant because of race and others being outright prejudiced is a true statement.

At what point do Americans stop allowing race and the Republicans to keep us on the track that we are on now?

We cannot afford another minute of the Bush type of era. John McCain is just that and the Palin's are worse.

LET'S TALK said...

I concur 1138, it is racism mixed with a lot of other things as well.

LET'S TALK said...

Hi Mauigirl, I agree with Jolly as well and 1138 who comes right out and states the truth about a certain percentage of people that will not vote for Obama and then there are those that are willing to be "undecided" untill election day.

because there is two beliefs in the usa. 1. one group wanting to supress the other group 2. the other group wanting everybody to be equal

Great point kendalnite, it seems that all have an agenda for what this diverse country should call the master race and the lowest.

I will go no further because a lot of great opinions have already made such a point much openly.

Hi Anajo/Anijo/JoAnn, Charles Davenport click Davenport.

Davenport and an assistant attempted to develop a comprehensive quantitative approach to miscegenation, or, as he put it, "race crossing" in humans. The resulting work, published in 1929, Race Crossing in Jamaica, purported to give statistical evidence for biological and cultural degradation following interbreeding between white and black populations. Today it is considered a work of scientific racism, and was criticized in its time for drawing conclusions which stretched far beyond (and sometimes counter to) the data it presented

What a mess we have when w depend on this type of study that was more likely done to prove the already results needed to prove his point.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding OM.

What exactly is your meaning, "I blame inbreeding"?

Unknown said...

Oh, just making a joke about the people who pretend they don't like Obama because of his supposed lack of experience or because he's a celebrity or because he's just too tall for a President, but really the problem lies with their own limited gene pool.

LET'S TALK said...

Hi again Om, I was at your politicartoons site and if it's OK with you, I'll add the site to my Links.

This is a riddle all right, and I can't think of an answer. Racism partially, but mostly I just think the public is too numbed and too addled to be bothered with having to think. Hey, American Idol is on. Gotta go.

LET'S TALK said...

Hi Tom, I sure hope this bailout wakes them up.

Thanks. I actually added both of your blogs a while ago.

Excellent comments. I have to agree there is racism involved, and I believe that at the end of the day, when undecided voters go to the polls they will look at the two candidates and vote for the one who isn't black. I think that could swing a few percentage points McCain's way. I hope our nation is enlightened enough that such a thing as skin color won't make a difference in choosing a president, but hey, this is modern-day America and who knows.

I also think there are people out there working to portray the race as closer than it actually is, for the reasons JR and TFWY suggest.

I love your comments, Om.

I think Tom is right, and oh, I need to get going now too so I can watch the ballgame!

LET'S TALK said...

Thanks Om, I've just started back to blog recently and I hope that I'll stay around this time.

LET'S TALK said...

Excellent comment by you as well Snave. I've really enjoyed reading your post of late and continue the good work.

Let's just hope there no hanky panky in this election, but I'm sure there will be.

I tend to think (hope) there are plenty of issues to look beyond race for the race remaining close (though I would add as others have that I don't think the race is a close as it's made out to be--538.com currently gives Obama an 80% chance to win). I think a lot of it has to do with familiarity and one reason I think Obama will be successful long term out of the first debate is that he really held his own. Readiness to lead was probably a big hurdle for many voters in supporting Obama and he should (whether or not you agree on policy substance) that he does have a command of the issues. In a year that favors Democrats, that should be enough to get him over the hump.

LET'S TALK said...

For Americas sake, I hope you are right Political Realm.
