What the Constitution Means To Our President

See Original Story

The Constitution has stood for two centuries as the defining document of our government, the final source to determine - in the end - if something is legal or right.

Every federal official - including the President - who takes an oath of office swears to "uphold and defend" the Constitution of the United States.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says he cringes when someone calls the Constitution a "living document."

Well Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, what would you say if I told you that President Bush thinks the Constitution in his own words; "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

The way this man treats our citizen's, I guess we are not too much better than the Constitution...

I don't think he gives a rats ass about anything other than himself, that smirk says it all.

FTF; You are so right, this guy cares less about the American citizens and our constitution.

chandira; That smirk that he has just makes me sick... as if he's saying I'm really fooling America.

JollyRoger; Nice one, money cant but you smarts, but it sure can buy corrupted friends who can get you in the White House.

The only time Bush upholds the Constitution is when he holds it up after he has wiped to look at it and see if he needs to tear off another piece and wipe some more.

To him it isn't just a goddamned piece of paper, it's a goddamned piece of toilet paper. Scalia needs to open his eyes and see what Bush is really doing. If Scalia cringes when he hears someone refer to the Constitution as a living document, he should also cringe when anyone makes it a personal mission to find as many loopholes in it as possible, for political gain... particularly when that person happens to be the president of the United States.

He's probably even had the nerve to say that the founding fathers could have never foreseen a time when our country would be attacked by those who hate our freedom and if they had, they would have fought them in Spain so we didn't have to fight them here.

Iwish he would go back to drinking and doing coke, because whatever it is his doctors are giving him is worse for the nation.

When presidents are sworn in, they should put one hand on the constitution, instead of the bible.

snave: "when he holds it up after he has wiped to look at it and see if he needs to tear off another piece and wipe some more." That's about what he thinks of it.

1138: I think he's taking those pills that keep him from dirking and impaired his thinking.

Lizzy: In this man's case, I think one hand was in the air giving us the finger.
