Has Beck And His Guest Lost it?

Has Beck and his guest lost it? Did I really hear Peter Fenn the Democratic Strategist says that Edward criticized Clinton for crying?

J. Marquis has a great find that puts things into prospective. I suggest you pay him a visit at Major Conflict. The Title is, The Meltdown Candidate and the One-Trick Pony.

KUCINICH CALLS FOR 'RECOUNT' OF NEW HAMPSHIRE BALLOTS

Analysts at the Election Defense Alliance (EDA) have confirmed that based on the official results on the New Hampshire Secretary of state web site, there is a remarkable relationship between Obama and Clinton votes, when you look at votes tabulated by op-scan v. votes tabulated by hand:

Clinton Optical scan 91,717 52.95%
Obama Optical scan 81,495 47.05%

Clinton Hand-counted 20,889 47.05%
Obama Hand-counted 23,509 52.95%

The percentages appear to be swapped. That seems highly unusual, to say the least. There is a possibility that Obama won the New Hampshire elections after all. See Kucinich asks for New Hampshire recount

Let's Talk- You didn't think Edwards criticized Hillary for crying? I thought he did and I was backing Edwards. What did I miss? I'll go check the link you posted and see if I'm missing something, but it sounded like he did take a swipe at her.

The meanness hasn't even started yet. With Richardson out and Kucinich straitjacketed by the MSM, the "top three" will tear each other to shreds soon enough.

I don't think what Edwards said was such a big deal.

I'll check out MC's blog post. Thanks.

emmanuel m liu, Edwards has been the person to let loose on Hillary from the start nor Obama.

LET'S TALK said...

Mary Ellen, I didn't think Edwards would be this cold because I thought she was honest.

LET'S TALK said...

Jolly Roger, I think that you are right on this call.

LET'S TALK said...

Lizzy, it wasn't, it's just that he seem to play the nice guy who will help all. But walks over a women who's having a moment be it real or not. Where's his compassion. Not even Obama did this and he's the one that was projected by the polls to win until Hillary did this and some brilliant PR work in the background.

let's talk- regarding Hillary, even Huckabee when asked about her emotional moment said that it wasn't a big deal and that campaigning is very stressful. He also said she would be able to handle any stress that comes with the office of President....and that's a Republican! I can't tell you how ticked I was at Edwards for that and his behavior at the debate.

Gosh, LT, after your reaction, I thought Edwards must've called Hillary a 97-pound weakling and kicked sand in her face, or something equally nasty, and I had completely missed it.

Here, from the ABC News Web site is what Edwards actually said:

"I think what we need in a commander-in-chief is strength and resolve, and presidential campaigns are tough business, but being president of the United States is also tough business," Edwards told reporters Laconia, New Hampshire.

"What I know is I'm prepared for that and I'm in this fight for the middle class and the future of this country for the long haul, through the conventions, straight to the White House."

ABC News said Elizabeth Edwards later "noted that everyone on the campaign trail can relate to how grueling the task can be . . . and added that voters will decide whether or not they want to see watery eyes."

Then, "Later, at another campaign stop, Edwards appeared to adopt his wife's more sympathetic tone.

"These campaigns are very grueling," he said, "they're tough and difficult affairs, running for president is a tough process."

OK, as I said at Oh!pinion, Clinton , like all the candidates, was worn down, physically, mentally and emotionally drained, from all the campaigning. So, no one should hold a moment of being emotional against her.

The ABC News piece starts off by noting (emphasis mine), "Former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., on the tail end of his 36-hour campaigning marathon in New Hampshire on day before the primary vote, reacted to rival Sen. Hillary Clinton's emotional moment Monday."

So, I attribute Edwards' less-than-gracious, opportunistic reaction to the same stress and fatique that caused Clinton to get teary-eyed.

Still, considering all the heat of competition going on there and the stakes, IMO what Edwards said was pretty mild and, as Lizzy said, no big deal.

I still think Clinton is as tough as anyone in the race, that Edwards is a class act and that they all need several days of strict bed rest.

I completely understand. I can look at him. I just won't watch him. It's a nausea-prevention measure.

LET'S TALK said...

S.W. Anderson, this is what he said.

Edwards offered little sympathy and pounced on the opportunity to question Clinton's ability to endure the stresses of the presidency.

"I think what we need in a commander-in-chief is strength and resolve, and presidential campaigns are tough business, but being president of the United States is also tough business," Edwards told reporters Laconia, New Hampshire.

Then he later said :

Edwards jumped on the chance to express his readiness to face the strenuous demands of the presidency: "What I know is I'm prepared for that and I'm in this fight for the middle class and the future of this country for the long haul, through the conventions, straight to the White House."

Later, at another campaign stop, Edwards appeared to adopt his wife's more sympathetic tone.

"These campaigns are very grueling," he said, "they're tough and difficult affairs, running for president is a tough process."

During a campaign stop at Jake's Coffee in New London, New Hampshire, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was also asked to comment about Clinton's teary moment.

"I didn't see what happened," he said, but added, "I know this process is a grind. So that's not something I care to comment on."

LET'S TALK said...

Distributorcap. this guy is a mess but somethings that were brought up needed to be (Edwards response).

LET'S TALK said...

S.W. Anderson, I watch everyone to know exactly what is actually going on.

LET'S TALK said...

Mary Ellen, we must talk because I really don't undrstand what happen with Edwards. I didn't think he could be this way. Maybe that's why his wife takes control a lot of times.

LT, Obama definitely gave the better response, both from a personal and political standpoint.

FWIW, I think the Edwardses and the Obamas are especially good and decent people navigating a nerve-wracking, extremely competitive environment. I have a hunch they will all be mighty glad when this is over.

TomCat said...

Edwards merely speculated that Hillary's tear could have been put-on, and they could have been.

On the recount, the stats look fishy, but it's too soon to panic. There will be a recount in H, because two more candidates have also demanded it: Ron Paul, and another nut-case (local) who claims the election must be fixed, because an angel told him he would beat Clinton.

LET'S TALK said...

TomCat, I see what you mean about the recount. If Obama is satisfied then what's the fuss.

Then again if the recount shows that Clinton did not win, how will this type of machine be counted on during the elections this November where there's no paper trace?

Candace said...

I'll be looking to see if they actually do a recount - thanks for posting this, LT!

LT, at my place, I posted an action alert this morning on that subject. It's not only machines, but caging as well that need concern us.
