From UK Times On Line
While most Americans are watching the different Presidential nominees and trying to make a decision on which one to support. Our President George W Bush will be brief ISRAELI security officials on their latest intelligence about Iran’s nuclear programme - and how it could be destroyed - when he begins a tour of the Middle East in Jerusalem this week.
Last month it was revealed that the US National Intelligence Estimate report, drawing together information from 16 agencies, had concluded that Iran stopped a secret nuclear weapon programme in 2003.
Israeli intelligence is understood to agree that the project was halted around the time of America’s invasion of Iraq, but has “rock solid” information that it has since started up again.
While security officials are reluctant to reveal all their intelligence, fearing that leaks could jeopardise the element of surprise in any future attack, they are expected to present the president with fresh details of Iran’s enrichment of uranium - which could be used for civil or military purposes - and the development of missiles that could carry nuclear warheads.
In an interview with the Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot this weekend, Bush argued that in spite of the US intelligence assessment, Iran still posed a threat.
“I read the intelligence report carefully,” Bush said. “In essence, what the report said was that Iran had a secret plan to develop nuclear weapons.
“I’m saying that a state which adopted a nontransparent policy and had a secret plan for developing nuclear weapons could easily develop an alternative plan for the same purpose. So to conclude from the intelligence report that there is no Iranian plan to develop nuclear weapons will be only a partial truth.”
Israeli security officials believe the only way to prevent uranium enrichment to military grade is to destroy Iranian installations. Many Israelis are eager to know whether America would give their country the green light to attack, as it did last September when Israel struck a mysterious nuclear site in Syria.
Bush refused to be drawn when asked whether he would support an Israeli attack. “My message to all countries in the region is that we are able to solve the problem in a diplomatic way,” he said, “but all options are on the table.”
We should try to watch what this President has planned for America before his time is over next year. He is still making decisions and they are all ways the wrong decision that cost American lives.

Bush/Cheney are cooking something up...be it this recent Gulf of Tonineque 'incident' with Iran or Cheney working to get covert military operaions and CIA operations into Pakistan. I just don't trus those 2 fucks. They still have a year left and can do alot of damage.
I hope Iran is able to deliver one hell of a counterpunch. It's the only way the hawks in congress are ever going to learn.
I'm right with you Polishifter. I don't trust them as well.
ThomasLB, we don't need any incident to allow Bush to evoke Martial Law and stay as President any longer than he has to in this country.
That is so true tom harper!
From the supposed story of the weekend of a small Iranian boat challenging a U.S warship, it probably means Bush is getting Israel ready to attack Iran in another made up confrontation.
They are saying one thing but in their minds and high level meetings they are really wanting Israel to get something started so they can charge in a save their ally. It's all a set up to either keep George in power or help rotten Rudy or another neocon get elected in November.
I don't think the Iranians will have to deliver a counterpunch this time.
All who read this, mark my words; this won't end pleasantly for Chimpy, or America, if he persists. And it will be an American institution that takes action against him.
I wouldn't put anything past Bush, Cheney and the anything-to-win GOP.
The following is from an Oct. 24, 2007, CNN story:
(Begin item quote)
Tucked inside the White House's $196 billion emergency funding request for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is an item that has some people wondering whether the administration is preparing for military action against Iran.
The item: $88 million to modify B-2 stealth bombers so they can carry a newly developed 30,000-pound bomb called the massive ordnance penetrator, or, in military-speak, the MOP.
The MOP is the the military's largest conventional bomb, a super "bunker-buster" capable of destroying hardened targets deep underground. The one-line explanation for the request said it is in response to "an urgent operational need from theater commanders."
(End item quote)
Maybe Bush and the Israelis are meeting to work out some way to use the U.S. hardware but make it appear to be an Israeli attack, or something.
I do think if Bush fires off an attack on the basis of his fears/suspicions/paranoia that the Iranians might be working on building nuclear weapons or maybe figuring out how to do that, he and Cheney will have to be impeached.
Americans have far more to fear from our Beavis-and-Butthead administration than from even nuclear-armed Iranians.
Just ask yourself, if you were Iranian, with your next-door neighbor invaded and put through hell for five years on trumped-up charges because of these crackpot crusaders, and if you had nuclear-armed Israel across the way, would you want nukes as a deterrent?
Enjoy Halloween, everyone, that'll be the last holiday celebrated before the martial law starts.
Look! An Iranian boat! With boxes!
Larry, that may be true. I thought about that as well.
Parson, that sounds scary, but it makes sense to me.
Jolly Roger, as I recall Biden has already said that he would be ready to start impeachments if this President started any such action against Iran.
Just maybe they will use Israel to do it.
S.W. Anderson, Thanks for that report, I can believe abything with this administration and something is going on while America is looking at the next Presidendial candidates.
Randal Graves, martial law just might be what we are looking at next.
I bet he's wondering what that noise is rattling around in his head! ; (
It wouldn't surprise me if Bush views this as an opportunity to stir things up even worse in the Middle East, for whatever irrational reasons he seems to want to do such things... Tell Israel to go ahead and get things started, see what happens, and then we can start dropping bombs all over the place when all the other countries over there start beating up Israel.
Someone was wondering if Olmert is Bush's new poodle. Could it be the other way around, that Bush is Olmert's poodle? Maybe that is the more likely scenario.
Coffee Messiah, the sad thing is, I think he knows.
Snave, you just might have a great point here!
You wrote this almost a week ago, and still, day after day, Bush keeps trying to fan the fire. Today in Abu Dhabi, Bush said Iran is threatening the security of the world, and that the U.S. and Arab allies must join together to confront the danger "before it's too late." It all sounds just a little too familar.
