"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city." This was said by Pat Robertson to the citizens of Dover, Pennsylvania because they voted out school board members who favored teaching intelligent design. There were eight (8), board members up for re-election who introduced intelligent design. The eight members wanted an alternative to the theory of evolution, they wanted the intelligent design theory that the universe was created by a higher power. Why can't Pat Robertson just talk about his age defying protein pancakes and his 700 club.
I to think that intelligent design should be taught at schools, along with the theory of evolution. I have a problem with the theory of evolution, but I'm not going to say that God will do this or that because God is God and he does all, as far as I'm concerned I am but a Man, one of Gods children.

A GOP DISSENSION ?
The GOP House leaders will start over next week with the $54 billion budget cut, because they had to pull it off the floor, amid growing dissension over longer work hours to qualify for welfare, allowing states to impose new cost on Medicaid beneficiaries, cutting assistance for child support enforcement, trimming student loans, cutting back agriculture support and curbing eligibility for food stamps.
There's a battle between the moderate and conservative House Republicans over the education program, energy policy and the poverty policy, which will be solved some time next week because 12 moderates have all ready crossed over and given in to the conservatives.
On the Other side of the Capital, the GOP moderates have forced the Senate Finance Commitee to put a halt on the tax cut for the wealthiest Americans. But not to worry my rich friends, you'll get your tax cut.
FEAR MONGERING CONSERVATIVES
Clinical trials are going on right now, with a new vaccine that's 100% successful in preventing the virus that causes cervical cancer. In America, about 4,000 women die every year with this virus. Merck is one of the two companies developing the vaccine funded by the government.
Groups from National Abstinence Clearinghouse,The Family Research Council and The Christian Medical and Dental Association are all speaking against this vaccine because it would have to be given to pre-teens before they become sexually active.
Now here is where the problem starts, just as we are having a problem with the morning after pill, it seems these conservatives are all about abstinence and nothing else. I guess if science ever comes up with a cure for HIV, the conservatives will fight to keep it from being approved, so that they can shout and teach abstinence.
There will soon be vaccines for chlamydia and gonorrhea, and yes pre-teens and teens are sure to be misinformed by the social conservatives. Oh boy what to do...what to do.
