President Bush Shows True Nature With Tantrum!

Yes America, our President has shown when he does not get what he wants, like a little spoiled child. He throws a tantrum. He has blamed our Democratic Congress of dong nothing, he has blamed our Senate of trying to withdraw and put our troops in harms way.

To be honest with our President, he should first know that he's the guy who has the power to veto any bill sent him by the Congress and yes, he has shown this power as we all are well aware of.

To my surprise as well, our Congress last week held its 943rd roll call vote of the year, breaking the previous record of 942 votes, a mark set in 1978. The vote was on a procedural motion related to a mortgage foreclosure bill. When the House adjourned on Oct. 4 for the long weekend, the chamber had reached 948 roll call votes, putting Democrats on pace to easily eclipse 1,000 votes on the House floor in 2007.

Mr. President you should know Democrats in the Senate have trouble mustering 60 votes; they've fallen short 22 times so far this year. That is largely why they have not been able to deliver on their campaign promises. So it seems they are trying to do their job, but your Republican party Senators are impeding this process by blocking Democratic bids, you know with those darn filibusters and just not allowing the Senate to do anything with delaying tactics.

We see what a spoiled President, who is use to Republicans giving him exactly what he wanted when they were in charged of both House and Senate. He cannot seem to handle rejection and start to blame all in his path with his tantrum type of scene.

Is this behavior appropriates for a President, what say you?

About 30 million low-income American households who will need help paying heating bills this winter from a U.S. government program will be left in the cold because of a lack of funding for the program.

The poor, already digging deep to pay for expensive gasoline, also will face much higher heating fuel costs, especially if oil prices stay near record levels.

Consumer groups and state energy officials have sounded the alarm, saying a federal program to help poor families pay heating bills will have nowhere near the money needed to cover those expected to seek assistance...

Still, the administration did not back away from its threat to veto legislation to boost funding for LIHEAP to levels it has called too high.

LIHEAP has an interim annual budget of $2.16 billion, but the White House wants to cut the program to $1.78 billion for the 2008 spending year that began on October 1.

The House of Representatives has passed legislation to boost the program to $2.66 billion, while a Senate committee has cleared a bill keeping LIHEAP at its current $2.16 billion budget.

We are already looking at another veto of the SCHIP bill that this President has promised us. Now we are looking at the possible veto of the heating bill for low income families.

Just maybe if this President started to spend less on his war, he would do more for the people of this country. Tell me what is right America, should the government stop using our tax dollars to take care of our children healthcare and the poor people heat in the winter? Does the government spend too much of Americans tax dollar helping the poor, when it should be spent to defend our country?

If You're Not For The Troops, You're Against Them

Thanks to Tom Harper at Who Hijacked Our Country, It has been brought to my attention that the SCHIP was not only to provide Health Care for our countries children. It was also to provide help for our wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

President Bush logic here is that expanding funding for the popular State Child Health Insurance Plan would mean that more people than those living in rock-bottom poverty might get access to government-subsidized healthcare, and that would be a grievous wrong. He contends that only kids born into the most desperate poverty should get help outside of private, market-priced insurance--whether they can afford it or not.

An unknown fact is that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton joined with Senator Christopher Dodd and a bipartisan coalition of Senators to introduce an amendment to the SCHIP bill which would extend the Family and Medical Leave Act to family members of wounded soldiers to six months. The bipartisan Support for Injured Servicemembers Act was also cosponsored by Senators Dole, Graham, Mikulski, Chambliss, Brown, Salazar, Cardin, Menendez, Kennedy, Boxer, Reed, Murray, Harkin and Lieberman.

The other provision provides one year of employment discrimination protection to family members caring for severely injured troops.

We have heard for years from President Bush, his Administration, and the Republicans. If you are not for us, you are against us. Well the question to this President, his administration and the Republican party, who vetoed the SCHIP that would help our troops as well as our children; If you are not for our Troops, You are against them!

If that's not bad enough for us. The Bush Administration wants to cut the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), a move which will literally leave 30 million low-income households in the cold this winter.

Yes you heard it right, he wants to cut government-subsidized heat to low-income households this winter. Ask yourself this America, is this a President for the people?

Where Are We Headed America?

House Democrats are promising America that they will push for a new version of the children's health insurance program, after the Republicans denied the country of a bill that saw help for our children during times of illness and accidents.

The House needed two-thirds of those voting to support the bill. The vote was 229 Democrats and 44 Republicans for overriding the veto, and 154 Republicans, and two Democrats for the veto.

I hear people on C-Span talking about how they raised their kids and never needed help from such programs and the government. I say to them hurray for you, but families today need such help, with the cost of insurance and Medical expenses.

How can anyone deny our kids this type of help and say that they are for "US"? How can you be for "US", when you are telling those that make too much to be on the program, but not enough to pay for the high cost of insurance, that it's best that they lose all to pay for surgery, hospital stay and regular medical bills that come from our children going to a hospital in this country today.

Where's our heart America? Where's our compassion and where's our love for one another in this country? Are we to say that American's love a party and a man, more than the people as a whole now?

The Federal Government And Marijuana

DEA Mary McElderry is concerned more with the money made by those selling marijuana, than those that benefit from the drug used to help with an illness that other drugs seem not to help.

In California and other States, the people have voted and the States have made Medical Marijuana legal for use with certain illness. The Federal government looks at the sell and use very differently and are putting a stop to such sell and use.

Should the Federal government over step what the States have ruled legal?

Republicans Gone Wild!

First we had Ann Coulter trying to promote her new book and saying anything that came to her mind. She appeared on CNBC's The Big Idea, hosted by Donny Deutsche and she really lost it with her insulting statement in reference to throwing away Judaism and everyone becoming perfected Christians.



Now today we saw Republican Cheri Jacobus insulting former Vice President Al Gore about the Nobel Peace Prize that was awarded to both him and The UN Climate Panel.

The Right Vs 12 Year Old Boy Over SCHIP

Democrats enlisted 12-year-old Graeme Frost, who along with a younger sister relied on the program for treatment of severe brain injuries suffered in a car crash, to give the response to Bush's weekly radio address earlier this month, Republican opponents quickly accused them of exploiting the boy to score political points. Then, they wasted little time in going after him to score their own.

In recent days, Graeme and his family have been attacked by conservative bloggers and other critics of the Democrats' plan to expand the insurance program, known as SCHIP. They scrutinized the family's income and assets - even alleged the counters in their kitchen to be granite - and declared that they did not seem needy enough for government benefits.



The critics accused Graeme's father, Halsey, a self-employed woodworker, of choosing not to provide insurance for his family of six, even though he owned his own business. They pointed out that Graeme attended an expensive private school. And they asserted that the family's home had undergone extensive remodeling, and asserted that its market value could exceed $400,000.
One critic, in an e-mail message to Graeme's mother, Bonnie, warned: "Lie down with dogs, and expect to get fleas."

As it turns out, the Frosts say, Graeme attends the private school on scholarship. The business that the critics said Halsey Frost owned was dissolved in 1999. The family's home, in the modest Butchers Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, was purchased for $55,000 in 1990 and is now worth about $260,000, according to public records. And, for the record, the Frosts say, the kitchen counters are concrete.

The Frosts also own a commercial property, valued at about $160,000 that provides some rental income. Halsey Frost now works intermittently in woodworking and as a welder, while Bonnie Frost has a part-time administrative job at a firm that provides services to publishers of medical journals. Her job does not provide health coverage.

Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have risen to the Frosts' defense, saying the family earns about $45,000 a year and are precisely the type of working-poor Americans that the program was intended to help.

Pelosi on Tuesday said, "I think it's really a sad statement about how bankrupt some of these people are in their arguments against SCHIP that they would attack a 12-year-old boy."

The House and Senate approved legislation that would expand the child health program by $35 billion over five years. Bush, who proposed a more modest increase, vetoed the bill last week. Bush said the Democrats' plan was fiscally unsound; the Democrats say Bush is willing to spend billions on the Iraq war but not on health care for American children.

It's either his way or no way, and that's not acceptable!

The House voted 265-159 to expand the State Children's Health Insurance Program, or SCHIP. You would think that all Democrats in the Congress voted for said bill.

Tomorrow our President will most certainly veto this bill and send it back to the House. To overturn a presidential veto, both chambers of Congress must produce two-thirds majorities. The 159 House votes opposing the SCHIP bill should give Bush enough cushion to sustain his veto, as House leaders expect few members to switch positions. Pelosi and the House needs 290 votes to override President Bush's veto.

The bill would cover four million children, in addition to the 6.6 million already enrolled. The overwhelming majority of those on the rolls are in low-income families.

The bill will renew the child health program for five years, with a total of $60 billion, which is $35 billion more than the current level of spending. The additional cost would be financed by increasing the federal excise tax on cigarettes by 61 cents, to $1 a pack.

Dennis Kucinich explains his vote by saying the bill doesn't adequately address the needs of legal immigrant children, so he's going to deny healthcare coverage to a few million other children. Which brings up another question in the debate for SCHIP.

Will this country deny any children heath care simply because those children parents are in the country illegally?

Come on America, we are spending trillions of dollars on a war that as yet, has not been told to the American people why we are there. Then this President cry about this bill costing the tax payer $200 billion dollars in four (4), years. Then he goes to the Congress and ask for an additional $40 billion dollars to help fund his war for next year, bringing that total to $200 billion dollars for one single year as opposed to the four years it would take for our children health care.

Something is very wrong with this picture America. This is the same man that believes in God. I all ways here the question asked, what would Jesus do? Now really someone needs to go to this President and ask just that question.
